Malloy: Executive order lets propane suppliers fill any tank

Hartford – Gov. Dannel P. Malloy today declared by executive order that any propane supplier can respond to a request to fill a propane tank, regardless of who owns the tank.

The governor’s office said the act will help those who lease a propane tank. Under normal conditions, only the owner of the tank may respond to such requests.

“Right now, people who heat their homes or cook with propane need the flexibility to get their tanks filled – it’s that simple,” Malloy said in a statement. “With temperatures dropping, we absolutely must provide residents who use propane with a way to meet their fuel needs.”
