Norwich opening downtown doors to Sandy-damaged businesses

Norwich – Shoreline businesses damaged and closed by Hurricane Sandy can find temporary refuge in downtown Norwich in a business storm relief program offered by Norwich Community Development Corp.

NCDC, which oversees the $3.3 million downtown revitalization program, will use money from the program’s rental assistance fund to offer free rent for four months in a vacant downtown storefront along with free permit assistance to allow businesses affected by the storm to open for the holiday season.

NCDC also would help businesses advertise their temporary locations to help customers find them. For information about the program, contact NCDC at (860) 887-6964.
