    Hammond plays the blues

    Acoustic blues guitarist John Hammond performs at the Chester Meetinghouse, 4 Liberty St., as part of the Collomore Music Series's 39th season on Sunday, Nov. 18, at 5 p.m. A reception follows the concert.

    Hammond has worked with John Lee Hooker, Roosevelt Sykes, Duane Allman, Robbie Robertson, Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix and Charlie Musselwhite, among many others. In 2011, Hammond was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame of the Blues Foundation in recognition of more than 40 years as a performer.
