    Waterford awarded $300,000 Small Cities grant

    Waterford — The town has been awarded a $300,000 Small Cities grant from the Department of Economic and Community Development, which will provide funds for zero interest loans to low and moderate-income property owners.

    The zero-interest loans are available to Waterford property owners who are looking to make health, safety, energy efficient, ADA accessibility and code compliant renovations to their homes.

    A homeowner orientation will be held Thursday in Town Hall from 7 to 8 p.m. Immediately following the homeowners presentation is an orientation for contractors scheduled from 8 to 8:30 p.m.

    Applications will be available on the town's website as of Thursday and paper applications can be obtained at the Senior Services Department.

    Completed applications will be accepted starting Dec. 4, in the office of Sally Ritchie, Senior Services director and will be processed at a first come, first serve basis.
