Stonington – Friday is Halloween.

Town officials were forced to postpone Halloween as a result of Hurricane Sandy, and First Selectman Ed Haberek confirmed today that Halloween will be held Friday as planned.

“We are encouraging children to ‘trick or treat’ in town and are asking residents and businesses to help us by participating,” Haberek said. “I will be joining other staff by dressing up to lead this fun tradition.”

Children from the Stonington Community Center will visit Town Hall, and Haberek plans to visit schools and the Teens for Tots program.

Town Hall welcomes “trick or treaters” until 4 p.m. and Human Services until 4:30 p.m.
