Stonington loses 2-0 in Class S field hockey final

Wethersfield — Stonington fell to Haddam-Killingworth 2-0 Saturday in the CIAC Class S field hockey state tournament final.

No. 4 Haddam-Killingworth scored once in each half. No. 6 Stonington (15-5) outshot H-K 13-10 overall and 10-2 in the second half, but couldn’t score. Annie Knizeski made six saves for Stonington, which was making its first appearance in the S final since 1991.
