Light Up Your Holidays! ivoryton Illuminations - December 1st

Looking for a different way to celebrate the holiday season? Then head down to Ivoryton for an incredible family event on December 1st from 5pm to 8pm. The village of Ivoryton will become the brightest village in Connecticut with over 100,000 lights illuminating the town! The entire village will be participating in this Holiday Extravaganza with carol singing, cookie decorating, dancing Sugar Plum fairies, a Holiday Bazaar and culminating with the lighting of the tallest living Christmas tree in the state at 6pm and the surprise arrival of Santa!

Family activities begin at 5pm and include letters to Santa and holiday letters to our soldiers abroad at the library; dancing Sugar Plum fairies at Six Summit Gallery followed by music from Shinbone Alley; carol singing and the Company of Fifers and Drummers outside the Playhouse; inside the theatre visit Santa’s Grotto with activities for children and photos with Santa; a holiday bazaar at the Ivoryton Inn and an old time candy store at Gather; cookie decorating at Aggie’s and Christmas crafts at Elizabeth’s and Something Special; The Ivoryton Tavern and the Essex Lion’s club will provide food and chestnuts roasting on an open fire.

Tune your radio to 101.5 and watch the lights dance to music throughout the month of December. Sponsored by the Ivoryton Library Association, Essex Savings Bank, First Niagara Bank, Citizens Bank, Essex Meadows, Richard Riggio and Sons and Valley Courier.
