Two arrested in massive Foxwoods brawl

Editor's note: This clarifies an earlier version of this article.

State police charged two men early Sunday morning for their involvement in a large brawl that took place at MGM Grand at Foxwoods.

The brawl included between 80 and 100 people, according to police. The two men charged were Wakyne A. Sebastian, 22, of the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Reservation, and Macharia Johnson, 38, of Everett, Mass. Both were charged with breach of peace and interfering with a police officer.

Police said that Sebastian was arrested for his involvement in the brawl, which spanned from outside the Shrine nightclub to the nearby MGM hotel lobby.

Once the brawl was contained, police said Johnson was involved in a separate incident inside Foxwoods Resort Casino that involved a knife. That incident included the same individuals from the MGM brawl, police said. The two casinos are connected.

Due to the size of the brawl, authorities from the Foxwoods State Police detectives unit, state police and Ledyard police responded to MGM Grand. State and Ledyard police responded a second time to Foxwoods for the knife incident. Police said an investigation is ongoing and more arrests are pending.
