New London – One woman was taken to the hospital with back pain after a minor two-car crash Friday night in front of Ocean Pizza.

One of the cars was delivering pizzas for a different business at the time of the 7:15 p.m. crash near the intersection of Ocean Avenue and Orchard Street, which briefly shut down the roadway.

Police had been in the area after responding to a report around 7 p.m. of shots fired in the area of the Cumberland Farms on Montauk Avenue. No injuries were reported after the 6:58 p.m. report of three shots fired near 215 Montauk Ave., but the caller reported a white vehicle driving away westbound on Willetts Avenue. Police ask anyone with information about the incident to contact the detective division at (860) 447-1481.
