    Make a Difference: Arc of New London County

    WHO: Monique, 28, a single mom with intellectual disability successfully raising two children, one of whom also has a disability.

    AGENCY: The Arc of New London County, which supports full inclusion for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in southeastern Connecticut.

    SITUATION: Last month Monique moved into a new apartment with her two children, ages 11 and 6, living on her own for the first time. With donations to help ease financial burdens, Monique and her children can focus on gaining self-esteem, confidence and pride in their accomplishments.

    WHAT TO GIVE: Winter items such as hats, gloves, socks in women's and youth sizes (boy and girl); blankets, winter coat, snow suit, pajamas, clothing for 11-year-old girl and 6-year old boy; Wal-Mart, Target and grocery gift cards.
