Mohegan — A pedestrian was killed Wednesday evening after being hit by a bus near Mohegan Sun, state police said.

Lt. J. Paul Vance said the crash occurred near the facility’s public safety building on Mohegan Sun Boulevard around 6 p.m.

No further details were available Wednesday night. Vance said the state police accident reconstruction team was on scene investigating.

Casino spokeswoman Cathy Soper said in a statement: “We are deeply saddened by this loss and our thought and prayers are with the family at this time. We are working together with officials and aiding in every way possible to assist with the investigation of this tragedy.”
