Local roundup: Fustini leads as Colonels stay unbeaten

Ledyard - Kylie Fustini finished with 16 points and 11 rebounds as the Ledyard High School girls' basketball team topped Killingly 66-23 in an Eastern Connecticut Conference Medium Division game on Thursday night.

Michelle Klinikowski added 14 points and Olivia DelGrosso 13 for Ledyard (4-0, 2-0).

H.S. wrestling

• Ledyard's Benjamin Morales started the match with a pin at 285 pounds and the Colonels went on to beat Griswold 63-12 Wednesday night. Derek Schultz (106), Devon MarcAurele (126), Michael Graff (132), Matthew Jones (138), Nicholas Lauer (145) and Colin Grim also had pins for Ledyard (1-0) and Ricky Cruz (113) won by decision.

H.S. hockey

• Christopher Freeman scored on an assist by Zach Jones and Kyle Gurnee in the third period as Fitch-East Lyme-Ledyard lost to E.O. Smith-Tolland-Windham 10-1 on Wednesday night. E.O. Smith led 4-0 after the first period.

College men's soccer

• Connecticut College junior Billy Hawkey was named to the National Soccer Coaches' Association of America All-New England Region Team. Hawkey was previously honored as a first team selection on the All-New England Small College Athletic Conference team. Hawkey had five goals and two assists to lead the Camels in scoring.

College volleyball

• Eastern Connecticut State University senior Katie Wilson, a Norwich Free Academy graduate, has become the first member of the volleyball program to earn All-New England honors from the ECAC. She was selected to the first team. Wilson was the only middle hitter chosen to either the first or second team. Last month, she was chosen to the NEWVA Senior Classic and also made the Little East Conference all-conference first team.
