Two large piles of beach sand dominate the horizon Tuesday near Westerly Town Beach. Crews from Cherenzia Excavation are gathering the scattered sand, then filtering out rocks and debris and in the process creating the large masses of beach sand. Cleanup efforts continue along the coast in the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy.

As part of the cleanup process, huge piles of sand are appearing along the Westerly shoreline.
