Teachers gave their lives for students

The first responders at Sandy Hook Elementary School didn't have guns, but were armed with big hearts and a passion to educate. They are our public school teachers and the ones they teach carry the title of student. A title that is as important to a teacher as son or daughter.

Dec. 14 we were reminded of what lengths a teacher, principal, or school employee will go to in order to keep our children safe. When it comes time to move forward and try to get through this, it will be the teachers who make their students feel safe and make school a place to learn and have fun again.

Newtown teachers didn't just show up and no evaluation can measure that passion and courage.
