It is my belief that some of the wars we have fought have been the wrong ones. We offer or impose "help" on other nations as if we have our own affairs in order. In America we are killing ourselves and each other at an alarming and appalling rate. Mass murders, gang warfare, domestic violence, eating disorders, suicide and other tragedies are issues that need our immediate attention. We should follow the flight attendants' direction: only by putting the oxygen mask on our own face can we be in a position to help others.
