Norwich — Police arrested a man today who they say attempted to abduct a 17-year-old girl who was jogging Friday in Mohegan Park.

David Rose, 21, of 303 Mohegan Park Road, was charged with unlawful restraint, breach of peace, public indecency and violation of probation.

The victim told police that a man wearing a black trench coat and a white mask grabbed her, and that when she escaped he exposed himself to her.

Police said that Rose was identified as a possible suspect based upon similarities to previous crimes and because he lives so close to where the incident occurred.

After police interviewed Rose, he was arrested. He is being held on a $200,000 bond, pending his arraignment today in Norwich Superior Court.

Rose was sentenced in November 2011 to six months in prison followed by three years probation for second-degree stalking, second-degree harassment and second-degree threatening.
