Cincinnati - It's been Kelly Faris Week for the UConn women's basketball team.

Faris finished with 18 points, 12 rebounds and six assists in Monday's 79-49 victory over fourth-ranked Duke, in effect saving the day, a performance which UConn coach Geno Auriemma called "one for the ages."

Later in the week she earned a place on the Wooden Award Midseason Top 20 list. Faris, a 5-foot-11 senior guard, is also just 95 points shy of becoming the Huskies' next 1,000-point scorer.

Faris' next opportunity to add to her total will be tonight at Cincinnati, where No. 3 UConn (17-1, 4-1) takes on Cincinnati (8-10, 0-5) in a Big East Conference matchup beginning at 8 p.m. (SNY).

Cincinnati is coached by former UConn player and longtime assistant coach Jamelle Elliott, who recently signed a three-year contract extension that will make her the Bearcats' coach through the 2017-18 season. Dayeesha Hollins, a 5-6 guard, leads Cincinnati with an average of 16.3 points per game.

Faris, who has spent the week answering questions of whether she should be an All-American, is averaging 10.8 points per game. She is second in the nation, though, with an assist/turnover ratio of 2.83 and is considered one of the Big East's top defensive players.

UConn is led by sophomore Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis with 17.3 points per game and 54 3-point field goals.
