A New London woman who is in custody for allegedly participating in the beating of a woman outside a local restaurant was arrested again Monday for threatening to kill another’s woman’s family.

Divona Johnson, 19, whose last known address was 42 Jefferson Ave., was charged with second-degree threatening, second-degree breach of peace and second-degree harassment.

On Jan. 22, Groton Town police were dispatched to a local residence after a woman called them to say that Johnson, who had previously threatened her, was in front of her house, the warrant said.

Police spoke to the victim, who said that Johnson had called her on Jan. 20 saying that she was going to “blast” the victim, the warrant said. Johnson claimed that the victim had kicked in her boyfriend’s door. The victim told police that Johnson called again the following day and told her, “I’m going to kill your son,” the warrant said.

The victim said Johnson also left a voicemail saying that she was going to kill the victim’s entire family.

The victim also showed police her Facebook page, where Johnson had posted a threat to kill her and her family because she had called police. The post read in part, “I Got a master plan to kill yalll.”

New London police arrested Johnson on Sunday for her alleged role in the beating of a woman both in and outside the China House restaurant on Ocean Avenue.

Police said on Jan. 18 they responded to an “active fight involving females.” Police saw a silver sedan driving away toward Spring Street, so they stopped the vehicle. The driver of the car, who police determined to be the victim, was crying hysterically and had visible injuries to her face.

The victim told police that her former friend, whom she identified as Johnson, had attacked her and stolen her phone and purse. The victim was initially uncooperative, saying she did not want anyone arrested and just wanted her possessions back, the warrant said.

Police said that based on her responses, they believed she feared retaliation from her attackers.

On Jan. 21, the victim gave a statement to police saying that Brianna Drayton and Johnson attacked her and that Johnson stole her phone and wallet.

The victim told police that between Jan. 19 and 21, Johnson had threatened her and said she would kill her entire family if she went to police, the warrant said.

In connection with the New London case, Johnson was charged with second-degree robbery, fifth-degree larceny, third-degree assault, first-degree inciting a riot and intimidation of a witness.

No information was available on whether Drayton or anyone else was charged in connection with the fight.

Johnson is being held in lieu of a total of $50,000 bonds. Her next court date is scheduled for Feb. 21.
