Norwich man arrested in Groton on protective order violation, warrants Groton City police on Wednesday arrested a Norwich man wanted on warrants who also allegedly violated a protective order.

Groton — Police on Wednesday arrested a Norwich man who had warrants out for his arrest who also allegedly violated a protective order.

Groton City police said officers responded to Fort Street around 12:10 p.m. for the report of an unwanted man in the area. When officers arrived, the man ran and was spotted by a detective on Meridian Street next to Washington Park. The man ran into the woods across from the park, police said, before being caught.

Police charged Jason Daniels, 25, of 61 Flyers Drive, Norwich, with violating a protective order and interfering with an officer. Daniels also had outstanding warrants for second-degree unlawful restraint, violation of a protective order, disorderly conduct and two counts of second-degree failure to appear in court.

Police said Daniels was held in lieu of a total of $475,000 in bonds.
