Bon Jovi starts tour at Mohegan Sun

A very good place to start: Bon Jovi is kicking off its new tour at Mohegan Sun Arena - as they and so many other acts have done before. The Bon Jovi launch happens Saturday night.

What's new? Expect more than the greatest hits. The band is releasing a new CD, "What About Now," this spring, and fans will hear some of those new songs in the concerts.

By the numbers: Can it be? Bon Jovi marks its 30th anniversary this year. (Yes, that's three decades worth of hair product.) Since forming in 1983, the group has played to more than 35 million fans at over 2,700 concerts.

Not one to judge: So he won't be a next-generation Simon Cowell. Jon Bon Jovi recently told a reporter for Britain's The Sun that he has been asked to be a judge on various TV talent shows but "it's not for me because I have a job - we're busy."
