Diocese of Norwich spokesman Michael Strammiello said the region's Catholics need to use common sense and “use every caution” when considering attending mass Saturday night or Sunday.

“Although advance forecast for Sunday is clear,” Strammiello said, “every good citizen and faithful Catholic should exercise every caution the entire weekend. All dioceses directly in the path of this massive storm would extend dispensation for those unable to safely attend Mass this Sunday.”

Strammiello also asked that people “extend a prayer for the emergency crews in harm's way.”
