You would think that people citing authorities to justify their own opinions would check into the qualifications of those authorities. It appears that your letter writer addressing climate change on Feb. 1 did not - "Climate change an unproven science." The "authority," Dr. S. Fred Singer, is a well known physicist, but one who has over the past two decades been operating on the questionable, almost lunatic fringes of scientific theory, with questionable motives and support that should have raised serious considerations in anyone's mind about the veracity of the information they are citing from that source. It's amazing that people will so readily adopt opinions that justify their own merely on the limited and questionable statements of one individual, in opposition to so many, many other equally qualified experts.

It's embarrassing.
