Timeline 11 a.m., Sunday: Old Saybrook: First Selectman Carl Fortuna Jr., reports that as of Sunday morning at 10:30 a.m., all Old Saybrook roads were cleared enough to allow one lane of traffic. Old Saybrook public works crews worked all through Friday night and until 10 p.m. on Saturday clearing the roads. The town crews and outside contractors will be doing additional clearing for eight hours on Sunday.

"Today we're widening the roads to get shoulders open and allow for two lanes of traffic. Every road is open and passable," said Fortuna.

Fortuna said that the Superintendent agreed to close town schools on Monday to allow the town's crews to finish clearing of all roads and shoulders and improve sight-lines at intersections.

Fortuna said some town trucks were getting stuck in the snow so the town hired contractors with front-loaders and bucket loaders to move big loads of snow. The excess snow is temporarily piled on the Town Green.

"Right now we're doing well. No accidents or injuries," said Fortuna.

He did report that in response to one 911 call this weekend, the town sent a bucket-loader, plow, and an ambulance together in convoy to reach the resident who needed assistance
