Thomas J. Myjak, Sr., 87, of East Haven, died on Feb. 21 at the St. Raphael Campus of Yale-New Haven Hospital. He was the husband of RoseMarie Corniello Myjak. Thomas was born in New Haven on Oct. 20, 1925, son of the late Anthony and Agnes Majksza Myjak. He served his country faithfully in the U.S. Army during World War II and had worked as a tool maker for the former Marlin Firearms for many years until his retirement. He had also played softball in his earlier years and enjoyed duck pin bowling.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Anthony Myjak and his wife Arlene of North Haven and Thomas Myjak and his wife Corinne, also of North Haven; five grandchildren, Cori, Rachel, Thomas III, Renee, and Katie; three brothers, Joseph Myjak of Hamden, Stanley Myjak of New Haven, and Frank Myjak of Branford; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by eight siblings, Anthony, Walter, and John Myjak, Anna Kornacki, Josephine Hribko, Mary Sanieski, and Stella and Rose Myjak.
His funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Ave., North Haven, on Tuesday, Feb. 26, at 10:15 a.m. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Stanislaus Church, New Haven, at 11 a.m., followed by burial with military honors in All Saints Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Monday, Feb. 25, from 4 to 8 p.m.
