    Pre-game preview: Georgetown

    Here's your pre-game preview of tonight's UConn-Georgetown game at Gampel Pavilion:

    Records: Georgetown 21-4, 11-3, UConn 19-7, 9-5

    Last game: UConn won at DePaul, 81-69, Saturday; Georgetown won at Syracuse, 57-46, Saturday

    Probable starters:

    UConn, 6-1 jr. guard Shabazz Napier (17.2 pts. 4.2 rebs, 4.6 assists), 6-0 so. guard Ryan Boatright (15.2 pts, 4.3 assists), 6-5 fr. guard Omar Calhoun (11.6 pts, 3.8 rebs), 6-8 so. forward DeAndre Daniels (10.7 pts, 4.9 rebs), 6-9 jr. forward Tyler Olander (4.5 pts, 3.7 rebs)

    Georgetown,  6-2 jr. guard Markel Starks (12.1 pts), 6-5 so. guard Jabril Trawick (5.5 pts), 6-8 so. forward Otto Porter (15.9 pts, 7.7 rebs), 6-8 jr. forward Nate Lubick (7.7 pts, 5.3 rebs), 6-9 so. forward Mikael Hopkins (6.0 pts, 2.5 rebs) 

    Noteworthy:

    -- UConn has a good shot at its first home sell-out this season.

    The Huskies have yet to lose at Gampel, suffering their only two home losses at the XL Center.

    -- Big East leader Georgetown is the conference's hottest team, winning nine straight.

    -- Sixth-place UConn has won seven of its last nine.

    -- Hoyas are 0-3 all-time at Gampel.

    -- Huskies own 3-2 record vs. top 25 teams this season, beating Michigan State, Notre Dame and Syracuse and losing to Marquette and Louisville. 

    -- Series: UConn trails, 34-27, losing five of last seven including 58-44 last season on the road.

    -- Porter, who had 33 points vs.Syracuse, is heavily favored to win the Big East player of year award.

    -- Top reserve: guard D’Vauntes Smith-Rivera (8.4 pts).

    -- In Big East games, the Hoyas rank first in field goal percentage (45.9), field goal percentage defense (37.3) and scoring defense (56.4 pts).

    -- Hot: Napier is averaging 27.5 points and shooting 15-for-27, including 11-for-16 from three, in last the two games.

    Cold: Only five of Georgetown’s Big East opponents have cracked the 60-point barrier.

    -- Stats to watch: rebounding and fast break points. Ollie pointed to those two areas as keys to winning tonight.
