Nominations are due by April 2 for the biennial Connecticut Medal of Science award. Bestowed by the governor in alternating years with the Connecticut Medal of Technology award, the prize recognizes "extraordinary achievements in scientific fields crucial to Connecticut's economic competitiveness and social well-being," according to Connecticut United for Research Excellence, the state's leading scientific association.
The award, modeled after the National Medal of Science, "recognizes the total impact of the winner's work on the current state of physical, biological, mathematical, engineering or social and behavioral sciences." CURE said.
