Old Lyme — The Connecticut Water Company will begin water main flushing in Old Lyme between the hours of 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekdays from Monday through March 20, according to a press release.
“Routine flushing helps to maintain water quality by scouring the inside of the water mains,” the company stated in its release.
During the process of water main flushing, some customers may notice discolored water or pressure fluctuations. If customers observe discolored water, they should refrain from running washing machines, dishwashers or other devices that use water, the company advised. The water discoloration should dissolve within a few hours; customers should call the company at (800) 286-5700 if it remains for longer than a few hours.
Visit Connecticut Water’s website at www.ctwater.com or its Facebook and Twitter accounts for the company’s water main flushing schedule.
