Ledyard — Ledyard, behind its pressure defense, beat Stonington 74-52, Wednesday night in the second round of the CIAC Class M boys' basketball tournament.
The No. 4 Colonels (21-4) host No. 5 Valley Regional of Deep River in the quarterfinals, Friday at 7 p.m. Valley, the Shoreline Conference tournament champion, beat Cromwell 74-56. Khary Childs scored 19 points and Phyllip Thomas had 17 for Ledyard.
Jackson Donahue scored 16 for No. 20 Stonington, finishing with a 13-11 record.
