Your online love wants to visit, but needs money for a plane ticket.
This is just one of the scams outlined in the state Department of Consumer Protection's new website and Consumer Protection Week "Every Age, Every Stage" campaign.
The outreach campaign March 3-9 encourages consumers to learn how to avoid frauds and scams, and to be an informed consumer.
Gov. Dannel P. Malloy encouraged consumers to visit the new website, SmartConsumer.ct.gov.
"At every age and every stage of life, an informed and aware consumer is more likely to avoid scams," Consumer Protection Commissioner William M. Rubenstein said in a statement.
