Groton — Forty employers, including Google, Coca-Cola and Bridgestone, plan to participate in a job fair the Naval Submarine Base is hosting Thursday, March 28.

The event will be held 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Groton Inn & Suites.

The base’s Fleet and Family Support Center and Morale, Welfare and Recreation Department developed the job fair to assist active-duty personnel who are leaving the service and their family members, veterans and retirees. The job fair is also open to the public.

Other employers expected to participate include Electric Boat, Pacific Drilling, First Energy, DTZ (a UGL company), PSEG, CINTAS, Tokyo Electron, United Illuminating, Applied Materials, Commissioning Agents, Inc., the William W. Backus Hospital, the National Credit Union Administration, the Connecticut Department of Labor and the Connecticut Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve.

Many of these companies are looking to hire veterans. For more information about the job fair, contact the support center at (860) 694-3383.
