Dunn overcomes illness, extends season (video)

Freshman Kris Dunn wasn't feeling well on Monday night.

That didn't stop him from contributing to Providence's 77-68 win over Robert Morris in an NIT second round game at the Dunkin Donuts Center.

Dunn and the Friars will visit Baylor in Waco, Texas, on Wednesday for the right to advance to the NIT Final Four in New York.

"It’s a great win for us," Dunn said of beating Robert Morris. "Baylor is a great team. It's going to be another fight."

Dunn, the McDonald's All-American out of New London High School, finished with six points, eight rebounds and two assists in 21 minutes off the bench.

After the game, PC coach Ed Cooley predicted the Dunn would someday win the Big East defensive player of the year award.

"He’s something to watch defensively," Cooley said. "He’s like a pretty young person that plays defense. He’s long, athletic, agile and he smiles. He plays with a lot of passion. That really resonates with this team."

Check out the attached video of Dunn's post-game remarks.
