Police: Two people hurt when struck by vehicle in Old Saybrook

Old Saybrook – Two pedestrians sustained serious injuries late Friday afternoon after being struck by a vehicle near the intersection of Route 1 and Jade Court, police said.

Both victims were treated by town police officers and volunteer firefighters at the scene. One was transported by Life Star helicopter and the other was taken by Old Saybrook Ambulance and Middlesex Hospital Paramedic to Yale-New Haven Hospital.

The condition of the two victims was not available this morning.

The accident is under investigation.
