New London - Mystic's Drew Doyle went 4-for-5, including two doubles, with four runs and four RBI as Mitchell College completed a New England Collegiate Conference baseball doubleheader sweep of Becker College with a 23-3 rout in the second game Friday.
The Mariners (9-7, 5-0) won the first game, 13-7.
Marc Dorsi had three hits, three runs and three RBI in the second game for Mitchell while Kenneth Olszewski went 4-for-4 with two runs and an RBI. Also, Waterford's Gavin LaLima singled and scored three times and Jeff Dowling had two hits, including a two-run home run.
In the first game, Neftali Arroyo hit for the cycle with three RBI and two runs while Olszewski was 3-for-4 including three RBI and two runs for the Mariners and East Lyme's Eddie Lorah had two hits, including a two-run triple, and scored twice.
In other games:
• Stonington's Connor Buckley broke open the game with a seventh-inning grand slam as Avery Point beat Massasoit CC, 12-4. The Pointers led 6-4 when Buckley had his big hit. Bryan Rivera had four hits, three RBI and scored for Avery Point (11-4) while Chris Mayhew had four hits and three runs. Also, New London's Matt Greene had two hits and scored and Alex Miller had two hits, three RBI and run.
• Daniel Lima's pinch hit RBI single in the top of the sixth inning scored Brian Sullivan and gave Clark a 2-1 win over Coast Guard Academy in a New England Men's and Women's Athletic Conference game. Clark is 5-13, 1-6. Eric Gerken singled and scored on an error for the Bears (10-8, 3-3).
• MIT swept a NEWMAC doubleheader from Coast Guard, winning the opener 10-2 in six innings the the second game 4-1. The sweep ended Coast Guard's seven-game win streak. Stacia Sarwinski had an RBI double in the opener for the Bears (9-7, 2-2) while pitcher Sammy Yuknat, a freshman from Old Lyme, was the losing pitcher in the second game, allowing only two earned runs while striking out four.
• Mystic's Brittany Duclos hit a two-run triple and scored to lead UConn to its 4-0 win over Rutgers in the first game of a Big East doubleheader. Audrey Grinnell added an RBI double and scored for the Huskies (13-12, 1-1). Loren Williams went 3-for-4, including a home run with three runs and two RBI as the Scarlet Knights won Game 2, 10-2.
