    Getting schooled

    The Harvard Krokodiloes

You'd think, being Harvard folks, they could spell "crocodile" and/or "armadillo."

And yet ... the elite school's a cappella group is called The Harvard Krokodiloes, which is neither a new biologically-engineered creature or a juxtaposition of words that makes any sense.

The dudes can flat-out sing, though, as you can personally ascertain Saturday when they entertain in the Chorus of Westerly's George Kent Performance Hall. The concert is the third annual concert in the chorus' Collegiate Concert Series, following presentations in 2011 by Yale's Whiffenpoofs and last year by The Dartmouth Aires.

Expect intricate harmonies and clever arrangements of material of jazz, swing, ballads, and rock from America's Golden Age.
