The Chester-Hadlyme Ferry, which opened Monday for the season, is back online after a mechanical issue temporarily shut it down twice over the past two days.
The ferry began operating again at around 4 p.m. today, said DOT spokesman Kevin Nursick.
The ferry first shut down at about 1 p.m. Thursday due to an electric issue with the propulsion system, Nursick said. While the problem was fixed in time for opening hours this morning, the ferry shut down early again this afternoon due to the same mechanical issue.
