Ledyard — Police arrested Sunday two Massachusetts men who they say stole a cash register from a restaurant at the Two Trees Hotel on Indiantown Road.
Sean P. Coyne, 21, of Boston, and Joseph B. Haugh, 21, of West Roxbury were each charged with third-degree criminal mischief and third-degree larceny.
Police said shortly after 6 a.m. they received a report that the cash register was stolen. During the investigation, police found that about 4:30 a.m. the men entered the Grill restaurant and removed cash from the register and then placed the machine into the trunk of a car. The men took a shuttle bus to the Foxwoods Resort Casino, police said.
Police said the men were arrested a short time later when they returned to the vehicle.
The men are scheduled to appear at New London Superior Court on April 29.
