After releasing their "Spaghetti Incident" album, it took Guns n' Roses 103 years before they came out with "Chinese Democracy."
By comparison, Ken Atkins & The Honky Tonk Kind are positively prolific. The very fine local country band released an original EP about 15 years ago, and only recently have they stepped it up with some full-length CDs, the latest of which is called "Everybody's Movin' On."
Well, the delay wasn't because of laziness. Atkins and his band have gradually expanded their parameters, establishing a reputation in the C&W hotspot of Austin. In fact, "Everybody's Movin' On" will be out on that town's boutique record label, Sound Job Austin. Very cool.
On Friday, Atkins & The Honky Tonk Kind will celebrate with a CD release party at 33 in New London. The album will be available for sale at the soiree.
