Man charged with threatening Malloy due in court
Barkhamsted (AP) — A man charged with threatening Connecticut Gov. Dannel P. Malloy and illegally possessing an assault rifle is set to make his first court appearance in the case.
Fifty-nine-year-old John Montysko of Barkhamsted (bar-KAM'-sted) is scheduled to be arraigned Monday in New Britain Superior Court.
State police say they arrested Montysko at his home Friday after WFSB-TV reported a threatening comment posted on its website on April 14. Troopers say they found several weapons at Montysko's home, including an AK-47 that is illegal to possess in Connecticut.
Montysko is charged with illegal possession of an assault weapon, threatening and inciting injury to a person.
He's being held on $120,000 bail. It's not clear if he has a lawyer.
