UConn Avery Point to host Earth Day fair

Groton — The annual Earth Day fair presented by EcoHusky group at the Avery Point campus of the University of Connecticut will take place from noon to 2 p.m. today at the student activity shed and volleyball court at the campus.

The public is invited.

The event will include a performance by the musical group Blessed Energy, displays of the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection’s Haz-Mat Investigation team, a marine touch tank, seed bombs, recycled cosmetics, green cleaning products, art projects, and information about Groton lands and how to become active in environmental issues. Special guests will include Town of Groton Mayor Heather Somers, City of Groton Mayor Marian Galbraith and Beatrix Milne of DEEP.

In case of rain, the event will be moved into the gym.
