The Groton Advocates for Tax Efficiency, GATE, support Jay Dempsey and Mike Boucher in the Groton City Council election on May 6. GATE was formed as a political action committee to offer an alternative perspective and to be a source of information to the Groton taxpayers.
Our overall mission is to provide a more transparent and informative source to the Groton electorate to make informed decisions on how their tax dollars are being spent. The members of GATE are supporting Mike and Jay due to their dedication and commitment in their efforts to unravel the $38 million dollar TVC loss.
GATE is about efficiency and transparency in government, something which is needed on the Groton City Council. The current City Council and Groton Utilities Commission lack the check and balances, along with taxpayer oversight of Groton Utilities, to ensure fiscal responsibility and open and honest government in the City of Groton.
Mike and Jay have committed to work toward charter changes to make that happen. Additionally, both candidates support an investigation into the TVC $38 million loss. GATE urges the voters of the City of Groton to support Jay Dempsey and Mike Boucher for council on May 6.
