Electricity has been restored to all customers who lost power this morning after a car struck a utility pole on Route 156 near Brookfield Estates Condominiums in Niantic.

The accident occurred at about 8:30 a.m., knocking out power to 314 customers.

CL&P spokesman Mitch Gross said earlier today that AT&T was called to the scene to replace the utility pole.

Police said the driver, Christina Dennehey, 26, of 39 Baltic St., Norwich, was not injured. She had been traveling west on Route 156 and veered into the right shoulder, striking the utility pole. Police charged Dennehey with failure to drive right.
