After 44 years with the Branford Counseling Center (BCC), Director Pat Andriole retires July 1. A retirement dinner in her honor will be held at Pine Orchard Yacht & Country Club on Sunday, June 2 at 4:30 p.m.
In 1969, Andriole was appointed by then-first selectman John Sliney to the newly formed Drug Use Committee. She helped the program evolve from a volunteer helpline into BCC, a licensed mental health agency, youth services bureau, and social services department serving the Branford community's mental health and basic needs. Andriole was named BCC director in 1994 and has served on many town boards and committees, including Branford Early Childhood Collaborative, Branford Coalition to Prevent Underage Drinking, Regional Mental Health, Branford Cares, Volunteer Services Center Committee, and the School-Based Health Center. Currently, she serves on boards of Soundview YMCA, Branford Festival Corporation, and Branford Community Foundation Advisory Board.
Andriole is a past president of Branford Rotary Club, Branford Garden Club and Branford PTA Council and past Treasurer of the Pine Orchard Club. Honors include her American Red Cross Hero's Award, Rotary Club of Branford Paul Harris Fellowship, Branford Education Hall of Fame Induction, Branford Chamber of Commerce Humanitarian Award, and 1999 Branford Citizen of the Year Award.
To attend the June 2 dinner, send a check payable to Charlotte Mattei, c/o Lisa Andriole, 47 Blackstone Ave., Branford, CT 06405. Tickets cost $65.
