Governor not invited to prince's polo match

Greenwich (AP) — Connecticut Gov. Dannel P. Malloy has been left off the guest list for Prince Harry's celebrity polo match in Greenwich.

Malloy spokesman David Bedarz told the Greenwich Time the governor was not invited to the exclusive charity event Wednesday at the Greenwich Polo Club, but brushed off the snub, saying Malloy is "more of a hockey guy, anyway."

The match is the final event in the prince's six-day goodwill tour of the U.S., and will benefit Sentebale a charity Prince Harry co-founded to help impoverished children in the nation of Lesotho.

About 400 people are expected to attend. All three members of the Greenwich Board of Selectmen were invited to the match.

Malloy plans to spend Wednesday afternoon with New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, discussing gun control.
