Westerly - As part of its “Healthy for Life” community education series, The Westerly Hospital is sponsoring a free, two-part discussion on “Topics in Alternative Medicine” from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the hospital’s Henry J. Nardone Conference Center.

The first part of the discussion, “The Evidence for Mind-Body Medicine,” will be led by Dr. David Schwindt, board-certified in internal medicine and medical acupuncture. He will discuss the research behind the harmful effects of chronic stress, the implications about stress causing some of the chronic diseases that are difficult for conventional medicine to treat effectively, and the clinical evidence for using mind-body medicine to treat a variety of illnesses.

The second part of the discussion, “An Introduction to Zen Meditation,” will be led by Dr. Daniel Diffin, a radiologist. He will discuss how Zen meditation promotes well-being through the integration of body and mind, and the theory and practice of meditation, with a special emphasis on Zen meditation. He will lead the group in various meditation exercises. Ordained as a Rinzai Zen Buddhist monk in 1980, Diffin has more than 30 years experience in Zen meditation, and has taught this practice in numerous workshops.

I'm willing to reserve judgment until the investigations provide the how, who and why behind the IRS intrusions and secret AP phone wiretaps.
If Obama were a Republican, the outcry would be deafening.
I don't think it's fair to lump together and blame the president for Benghazi, the IRS actions and Justice Department wiretaps.
Obama is showing himself in the same league as Nixon.
