I am responding to the poor taste of a satire cartoon in the May 11 edition titled "The Dispatcher." Even though it was making fun of the dispatcher, the suffering that those three girls, now ladies, endured is beyond any of our comprehension. How dare anyone make fun of the situation.

As a labor and delivery nurse I cannot imagine being kicked in the belly and starved until I miscarried. Those ladies lost the prime of their lives which they can never get back. Not to mention the torture physically, mentally, and emotionally they suffered.

I am extremely offended at such a display of humor. The cartoonist and editor who approved it should try being in chains for one day and abused like those women were for over 10 years. Then see if you want to publish such a cartoon. Shame on you!
