ECC baseball final to start early, ECC softball final moved to Saturday

    Day Staff Reports

The Eastern Connecticut Conference baseball final will be played tonight, albeit a little earlier than planned.

First pitch for the Fitch vs. Waterford title game will be 6:30 p.m. at Dodd Stadium. It was scheduled to start at 7.

Second-seeded Waterford has beaten the No. 4 Falcons twice this season — 4-0 (April 29), and 9-2 (May 15).

The ECC softball final has been pushed back to Saturday at Griswold High (11 a.m.)

The ECC softball semifinal between No. 2 East Lyme and No. 3 Griswold will be resumed today at 5 p.m. at Veteran's Memorial Field in East Lyme. The game was tied at 5-5 with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning Thursday night when it was suspended due to rain.

Fourth-seeded Waterford will play the winner of that semifinal.
