Suspected heroin dealer arrested in Jewett City

Jewett City — Investigation by state police into heroin trafficking in Jewett City led to the raid Tuesday of a North Main Street home and the arrest of the resident.

Donald Davis III, 35, of 72C N. Main St. was charged with possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police said the arrest was part of a joint investigation by the Statewide Narcotics Task Force – East Office and Jewett City Resident Troopers Office. Members of the Troop D Quality of Life Task Force and troopers from Troop E joined Tuesday in a search of Davis’ residence, where police said they seized 4.5 grams of heroin packaged for sale with an estimated street vale of $1,300.

Davis was held in lieu of a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear June 13 in Norwich Superior Court.
