Two arrested in road rage incident in Groton

Groton — Police said they arrested two people Sunday in what they are calling a road rage incident.

Police said shortly after 4 p.m. they received a report of a disturbance in the area of the Groton Square shopping center on Route 12.

Witnesses at the scene said that two people fled on foot while another person fled in a vehicle north on Route 12. Police did not say what caused the incident.

Police arrested Benjamin Huntley, 34, of East Lyme, and charged him with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, possession of narcotics and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police said he was in the fleeing vehicle.

Timothy Wicer, 38, of Norwich was also arrested and charged with second-degree breach of peace.
