Stonington falls in Class S boys' lacrosse semifinals

Cheshire — The Stonington boys' lacrosse team had its run ended Wednesday, falling to No. 13 St. Joseph of Trumbull 9-6 in the CIAC Class S semifinals.

Top seed Stonington (16-5) trailed 6-4 at halftime and never led.

Tyler Grills scored three goals, Dan Riordan had two goals and Nick Balestracci also scored for Stonington, which lost in the semifinals for the third time in the last four years.
