All the world's a stage: This is Flock Theatre's 20th year presenting Shakespeare in the Arboretum, and it's beginning its anniversary season with "As You Like It." This Bard comedy bows Friday and continues through June 28. As always, bring blankets or chairs, flashlights, and bug spray.
Behind the scenes: Directing this production is Anne Flammang, who has acted in past Flock shows but is helming her first one. She also just finished her postdoctoral program at the Yale School of Drama and is retired from the Department of Humanities at the Coast Guard Academy. Another former CGA prof, Faye Ringel, meanwhile, is serving as production dramaturg and production assistant.
A tale to tell: Trying to take refuge from persecution, Rosalind hides in the Forest of Arden. The production features singing, dancing, live music - and puppets designed by Flock Artistic Director Derron Wood.
